Homemade Vegan Green bean casserole
Homemade Vegan Green bean casserole
Prep time: 15 minute 
Cook time: 30-45 minute 
Serves: 4 servings  
Ingredients:
- 1 lb of green beans, ends removed and broken into 2-3 in pieces 
- 1/4 cup of sorghum flour / rice flour / buckwheat flour 
- 1/2 cup of almond milk 
- 1/2 tsp of salt 
- 1 tsp of dried thyme 
- 4 oz of thickly sliced crimini mushrooms / white mushrooms 
- 1 medium onion, diced 
- 3 tbsp of oil (one for mushroom and onion, 2 for beans) 
- 1/2 cup of Gluten Free French fried onions 
Cooking Tools:
- Saute pan 
- Medium sized Casserole dish 
Directions :
- Add 1 tbsp of oil to the pan on medium heat. 
- Add onions and mushroom. Saute for 5 minutes until mushroom begins to soften. 
- Add the remaining oil and green beans into the pan and cook for 3 more minutes. 
- Add flour into the pan. Saute for another 3 minutes, then add in the almond milk and stir for the sauce to thicken. Add in the salt and thyme. 
- Transfer everything to a oven-safe casserole dish. Top with fried onions, and bake uncovered at 350F for ~30 min depending on your oven. 
Cooking Tip:
Use a larger casserole pan and double the.recipe for the perfect Thanksgiving side dish!
